Teen’s #SuperStraight Hashtag Goes Viral; Trans Activists Threaten to Kill His Mother

US — . ‘Super straight’ is a sexuality that was named by teen Kyle Royce in a TikTok video that has taken social media by storm.

In the video, the TikToker, said to be 16-years-old, explained that he is a heterosexual man who dates women and does not include ‘trans women’ in his dating pool. This attraction and dating pattern has led to accusations that the teen is ‘transphobic’, he said.

“So now I’m super straight,” he announced. “I only date women that are born women. You can’t say I’m transphobic now, because that’s just my sexuality.”

In onscreen text, the video asked the question: “Who else is super straight?”

The video was an instant hit, leading a tidal wave of social media users to come out to the world as super straight.

Social media users quickly created a super straight symbol and colors, and launched super straight Reddit and Facebook support groups and Twitter advocacy accounts.

Some LGB individuals came out in solidarity with the super straight movement. They labeled themselves ‘super gay’ or ‘super lesbian’ to affirm their sexual attraction exclusively to the same biological sex. Others took the label ‘super bisexual’, affirming their attraction to ‘organic bodies’ not modified with cross-sex hormones and surgeries until physical characteristics of both sexes appear intermingled on a single person.

The LGBTQ+ flag was redesigned to add the orange and black colors of the super straight sexuality. The terms ‘super straight’, ‘super gay’ and ‘super bisexual’ have been given entries in the Urban Dictionary.

Transgender individuals and their allies responded to the viral meme with outrage, slamming the #SuperStraight trend as ‘hateful’ and ‘transphobic’, and demanding social media networks curb its spread.

TikTok has responded to the call, banning users who post videos under the #SuperStraight hashtag.

Though Kyle Royce’s TikTok page proudly announces that he is the founder of the ‘super straight’ trend, he has removed the video that began the craze. The teen revealed: “I removed it [because] they sent death threats to my mom over it.”

Trans activists are flooding social media with threats to “kill” anyone who identifies as super straight.

Reddit has banned subreddits organized by members of the super straight community.

GoFundMe deleted a campaign by Kyle Royce, who said, “People found my family and have been set to ruin our lives; even attacking my mothers business.”

GoFundMe later removed a fundraiser by members of the super straight community that had collected over $7,000 for the Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter (VRRWS). Transgender activists had VRRWS defunded in February 2020 after the shelter refused to expand its women-only services to men who self-identify as women. The defunding followed months of terrorism; a dead rat was posted on the shelter’s door with such messages as “Kill TERFS – Trans Power.”
